The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States has returned to the Sri Lanka National Hydrographic Office on 29th April 2026 to further strengthen its partnership, with a continued focus on advancing hydrographic capabilities. This collaboration plays a vital role in enabling Sri Lanka to independently survey and chart its maritime domain, thereby enhancing navigational safety, improving maritime situational awareness, and reinforcing national maritime sovereignty.
This visit marks a continuation of the constructive engagements previously held in April 2025 and November 2025 at SLNHO, reflecting a sustained commitment to capacity building and technical cooperation in the field of hydrography.
