SRI LANKA EXPANDS NATIONAL ENC COVERAGE TO 28 CHARTS

The Sri Lanka National Hydrographic Office (SLNHO), has achieved another significant milestone with the recent publication of two new Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs), LK35PG07 and LK35QK05.

With the publication of these two ENCs, the total number of Sri Lanka (LK) ENCs published has increased to 28, further strengthening national chart coverage and supporting safe and efficient navigation within Sri Lankan waters.

This continued progress reflects the professionalism and dedication of the officers and sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service attached to the SLNHO, whose expertise in hydrographic surveying, data processing and nautical chart production has been vital to the successful development of Sri Lanka’s national ENC portfolio.

The programme has also made a significant contribution to the national economy, generating a total revenue of USD 242,141 up to the second quarter of 2026 through the international distribution of Sri Lankan ENC products.

The steady expansion of ENC coverage demonstrates Sri Lanka’s growing national hydrographic capability and its continued commitment to maritime safety, international obligations and the sustainable development of the country’s blue economy.
