Newly appointed members to the National Hydrographic Council receive letters of appointment

Newly appointed Chairman and two of the appointed members of the National Hydrographic Council (NHC) appointment letters received from the Secretary Defence General Kamal Gunathrathne (Retd) WWV, RWP, RSP, USP, ndc, psc, MPhil at the Ministry of the Defence, Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte on 1st April 2024 as per the establishment of NHC under the National Hydrographic Act .7 of 2024.

Rear Admiral (Retd) Sisira Jayakody, RWP, RSP, VSV, USP, ndc, psc received appointment letters as the chairman to the NHC and Rear Admiral (Retd) A Wijesiriwardane, RWP, RSP*******, USP and Rear Admiral (Retd) KAPSK Kariyapperuma, USP, hdmc, psc as the appointed members to the NHC in addition to ex officio members..

In particular, two of these senior officers have served as the Chief Hydrographer to the Sri Lanka Navy and also Joint Chief Hydrographer to the Government of Sri Lanka. They have professionally well qualified in Hydrography and Nautical Cartography.

Navy Commander Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, RSP**, USP, ndu, psc, Additional Secretary (Defence) Harsha Vithanarachchi and present National Hydrographer Commodore Kosala Warnakulasooriya, RSP*, USP, ndc, psc were also present at the occasion.
